Becca J.R. Lachman teaches and tutors at Ohio University. The Apple Speaks (Cascadia Publishing House), her first book, investigates being an “AMK” (adult missionary kid) and her Swiss Mennonite roots. Becca’s choral music is available through Heritage Press under Rebecca Rossiter, her maiden name. Her written work has appeared in Swink, Alimentum: The Literature of Food, The Sun, Octave Magazine, On Being’s blog, Center for Mennonite Writing Journal, and elsewhere. A recent grad of the Bennington Writing Seminars, Becca lives in Southeast Ohio with her husband Michael, perhaps t

Carrie Oeding was born and raised in Minnesota. She has lived and taught in Washington, Ohio, Texas and West Virginia. Her work has appeared in Colorado Review, Mid-American Review, Verse Daily, Greensboro Review, Best New Poets 2005, Brevity: A Journal of Concise Creative Nonfiction, and elsewhere. She was awarded the Claude Kantner Award in her final year at Ohio University, where she received her Ph.D. in Creative Writing/American Literature. She teaches at Marshall University and lives in Huntington, WV, with her husband, poet Kent Shaw. Oeding is currently working on a collection of essays and a second collection of poems.


Kent Shaw’s first book, Calenture, was published by University of Tampa Press in 2008. He has been a sailor in the United States Navy, a technical writer and a day trader. He has lived in St. Louis, where he received his MFA from Washington University, and in Houston, where he received his PhD in Creative Writing. His recent poems have appeared or are forthcoming in The Believer, Boston Review, Ploughshares, Denver Quarterly, H.O.W. Journal and elsewhere. He currently lives in West Virginia with his wife, the poet Carrie Oeding. He is an Assistant Professor at West Virginia State University.
