Tai Chi Easy/ Qi Gong
Class Description
This class is designed to introduce you to Tai Chi and Qi
Gong in a gentle, fun, and relaxed way. Posture, breathing, and movement are
all covered on the first day. The classes consist of a warm up, Qi
Gong(movement, breathing exercises, self-massage techniques, meditation), and
Tai Chi Easy. It can be done sitting or standing. Tai Chi walking is taught for
those who are able and ready. This class has been shown to improve your
balance, develop mobility, improve focus, enhance immune function, and more. If
you want to learn a new way to move your body, improve your focus, and learn to
prevent disease then this class is for you!
Professional Biography
Jameson Platt is a dedicated student and teacher of the Qi
cultivation arts. He started his journey into this mysterious world of Qi Gong
and Tai Chi in March 2013. He found a teacher in his hometown of Athens, Ohio
and realized it was what he had been looking for. In September 2013, Jameson
started his teaching journey when he attended the first of three levels of a
teacher training in the Qi cultivation arts with the Institute of Integral Qi
Gong and Tai Chi lead by Dr. Roger Jahnke. Jameson has found great joy in
sharing this ancient wisdom with anyone who wants to learn and hopes to
continue helping others learn how to care for themselves with these healing
arts.
Class Outline
During the course of this 9 week class, we will be starting
with some basic Tai Chi principles such as posture, how to move, breath, and
mind focus. Every class will include some Qi Gong to warm up followed by Tai
Chi movements which can be done standing or even sitting for ease of learning.
For those who are able, Tai Chi walking will be introduced after all movements are
learned standing. By week 9, students will be able to perform the whole form
whether it be moving, sitting, or standing.
